About

PixKit is a collection of free online image tools built on a simple idea: your files should stay yours. Every tool on this site — compression, format conversion, resizing, cropping, watermarking and more — runs entirely inside your web browser. Images are never uploaded to our servers, because there is nothing to upload them to.

How it works

PixKit uses standard web technologies: the Canvas API for image processing and WebAssembly for advanced codecs like AVIF encoding. When you drop a file into a tool, it is read directly from your device into browser memory, processed by your own CPU, and written straight back to your downloads folder. You can even disconnect from the internet after loading a page — every tool keeps working.

Why we built this

Most online converters ask you to hand over your photos to an unknown server just to shrink a file. That is a bad trade for private pictures, client work, or anything confidential. We wanted tools that treat privacy as the default, not a premium feature.
